Why did you choose to work for Multiplex?
I did a placement for Multiplex at the end of my second year of university and was thrilled with the responsibility I was given, I got on well with the team around me and knew that the portfolio of upcoming work was second to none. Knowing the structure involved in the Graduate Scheme and the opportunities available, I was very happy to have successfully gained a place.
What is your current role?
I am currently Package Manager on 100 Bishopsgate, responsible for roofing and plant room cladding, external works, BMU’s, Part L air testing and will be responsible for architectural and sundry metalwork in the coming weeks as well.
Describe the support network that you have had access to on the programme.
During the graduate programme there was a wide range of support, not only in the training courses to develop the skills I need to do my job well but also with my peers also on the scheme. I also got invaluable support from the management and colleagues on my project at the time, my direct line managers who ensured to challenge and build my skills every day and support with working towards becoming chartered.
What has been your proudest achievement at Multiplex so far?
Seeing the packages of work I managed on London Wall Place through from tender stage to completion and being nominated for the Mike Sharples award are both achievements I am very proud of. Some mistakes were made along the way and I learned some valuable lessons, but walking past the development and looking back on the three and a half years I spent there really gives a sense of accomplishment
What do you think about the Multiplex Graduate Programme?
I believe that with the right support and training, which is given here at Multiplex, the graduate programme has the ability to develop people within their respective discipline to become leaders. I believe that the graduate scheme developed upon the skills I learned at University incredibly well and with the support around me I have gained a lot of valuable experience and been given greater responsibility far quicker than I ever thought would happen.
