M&E Graduate
Describe the skills you have gained since working for Multiplex?

My degree was in Interior Architecture and Design, and the Multiplex Design department has helped me enhance those skills. Learning to cross reference information to ensure the design is bought and built properly even helped when it came to buying my own flat earlier in the year!

How would you describe the people you work with at Multiplex?

Moving from interior design, I thought that I would miss the female support, however, I have met some incredible women on my project team who are really inspiring and supportive. Everyone has this amazing ethos and drive that is great to work alongside.

How Multiplex has supported your long-term career goals?

I aspire to lead a team successfully as a project director in charge of my own project. My manager and mentors have been helpful in ensuring the work I am doing is also aligning with my long-term goals.

What value do you think your role brings to your project?

I feel I bring a different perspective to the design team and a fresh energy to the project. My background has helped me approach design with a different skill set to compliment the other design managers.

Aside from your day-to-day role, what other opportunities have you enjoyed since working for Multiplex?

I have worked closely with the construction team and the SHEQ team. I love that you can be involved in the wider project team – it has given me experience that I wouldn’t have otherwise have had from my day-to-day tasks. I have also attended most of the organised socials – a good way to meet people from all parts of the company!

Why did you choose to work for Multiplex?

After working in interior design, Multiplex seemed like a great opportunity to work on some exciting projects. The scheme came recommend by a fellow graduate who had started the year before! I have never looked back.

What future do you see for yourself in the company?

I want to eventually complete a masters in a construction project management degree to help me achieve my overall career goals.

What is your current role?

I am currently a graduate design manager on One Nine Elms in Vauxhall. My main tasks include coordination of all the samples, mock-ups and benchmarks on the project, and coordinating several packages including the residential mock-ups, commercial kitchens, and painting and decorating.

What’s been your proudest achievement at Multiplex so far?

My proudest moment was being awarded ‘Graduate of the Week’ at Constructionarium – I learnt so much while participating!

What do you think of the Multiplex Graduate Programme?

The graduate programme is such an amazing opportunity. You learn so much from the other graduates and you always have a great, varied group of people to learn from as you each grow and gain experience in Multiplex.
